Sick house!

Sick Ava!

Zach got his first real golf club and is having lots of fun practicing!

Ava has been running a low grade fever from what I thought was her molars. Last night I noticed that she seemed to be falling over a lot when playing. She's not walking, but would fall when standing or sitting even. This morning she woke up with eye gunk. I didn't see any pink so I thought it was just allergies. Something made me decide to call the doctor and they wanted to see her. With this swine flu stuff I think they are being overly cautious. I brought her in and she has a double ear infection and PINK EYE! Geesh! I have been having a hard time breathing and it's getting worse. Now I have a headache, my chest hurts and I have an cough. Uggh! Just back to work and we're all getting sick. It's got to hit us one last time before the end of the season!

Girls Night!

We went out for a much needed girls night last night! I haven't had that much fun in a really long time! It was just what I needed :) I also hadn't been out past midnight in a long time or drank more than 2 drinks in years! Was paying for it this morning.

My Goobers!

We brought out the mini jumper for the kids to play with for a while. It took Ava a bit to warm up to it, but now she loves to go in there with her brother. We also had Ava's follow up neuro appointment yesterday. The doctor was happy with her progress and said we won't need to do any further testing unless she stops making progress. He wants to see her at 18 months just to see how she is doing.

4 molars plus no naps for the toddler equals.....

Eeek! I found that Ava was getting at least 2 molars at the beginning of the week. After feeling around for their progress today I saw that she is getting all 4 at the same time! No wonder the poor thing has been a mess. She is a trooper though, nothing compared to Zach's teething bouts at this age. With the way that Zach puts things in his mouth you would think that he was teething too, but he has all of his teeth. I wish I could blame his behavior in the last few days on teething. He has just been a total grouch and this is now day number 2 with no nap. I really need that nap time! I hope he isn't trying to do away with it completely. Yesterday was good though because he was asleep on the couch by 8! We're lucky to get him in bed by 9 on a regular night. It's 8:30 now though and he is still wired for sound.

2 and a half year old conversation

Zach- "you go potty?"
Mom- "yes"
Zach - "I turn light on?"
Mom- "we don't need it"
Zach- "I do this one"
Mom- "Fine"
Zach-"Not the loud one?" (meaning the one for the fan)
Mom-"Not the loud one."
Zach-"I go down the toilet?"
Mom-"what goes down the toilet?"
Zach-"Me?"

I guess he thought if he turned on the loud fan thing that he would be flushed down the toilet! No wonder he actually listened to me when I told him no! HAHAHA! Is it bad to keep him thinking that so that he will leave it alone?

Conversation #2 (caution possible TMI, it is about #2)
Zach-"I go potty"
Mom- "OK, let's go"
Mom- "well, it looks like you already went in your pants"
Zach-"I go more"
Mom-"OK" and takes off diaper
Zach- "What did you eat?"
Mom-"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Zach-(after actually going more!) "I all done. I get heart candy now!"
Heart candy bought in bulk is the greatest motivator!

So Big!

Zach is getting so big! He has full conversations, tries to tell jokes and be funny, doesn't forget about things and can rarely be fooled anymore! He repeats just about everything he hears (some not so good)and continues to grow at a rate I never thought possible! These first few years are truly amazing. I am in aw of what the human brain starts at and goes to in just 31 short months! I plan to write out one of our conversations as soon as I can get it down on paper.

Swimming!

We decided to venture out to the pool for the first time this year! Zach dove right in and Ava wasn't so sure. This was her first time in a pool, really. She was so little last year that I just waded with her and barely got her feet wet.

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny came to our house last night! Zach and Ava had fun opening their basket. The big ticket item was lollipops! We had all we could do to make Zach wait until after breakfast to eat one. We had breakfast with Dan and Linda, did a little easter egg hunt and photo shoot and then they left to drive back to Oregon. They were such a big help and I know we exhausted them! They will need a vacation when they get back! The video is of Ava trying to walk with her new stroller. She fell over once so was a little intimidated by it. She has come so far in the last 3 months!

Ava's 2nd First Birthday Party!

We had Ava's second party today and it was great! I haven't been able to get the pix on the computer yet, but I will try to get them up soon. She had so much fun destroying her cake and opening her presents. We thought we were going to lose her to a nap about an hour in, but she managed to stay with us until the last guests left! I just can't believe she is ONE! It just doesn't seem possible! My BABY is ONE! Now I'm off to help the Easter Bunny!

Scrapbooking Layouts!

I finally got a little chunk of time to work on some scrapbooking! I feel so behind!

Zach neglect!

In looking at the blog it seems as if I only have one child! With all of Ava's celebrations he has not had much blog time! Here are a couple of cute pix that I took while practicing in manual mode on the camera. I also have some pix from MyGym the other day that are still on the camera! Zach is also doing great! He just spent a weekend with Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa while us girls were in NH. They went to JumpZone and the Living Desert! He barely even missed me. Some days he didn't even want to talk to me because he was too busy having fun!

Happy First Birthday, Ava My Darling!

Today is Ava's first (second really) birthday! She is one year old! One year ago at this time I was at the hospital getting ready to have her. In about 2 hours from now she will officially be one year old! Since it is her special day I think I will do an "Ava inventory" to write about all of the wonderful things she is doing now! To start, she is FINALLY crawling in the "traditional" manner. She is up on all fours and going all over the place. She started a few weeks back, but this last week she has really taken off. It seems she found her self during our trip to NH. She is also pulling up, still a little unsteadily, but she is getting there. That is a good sign for the neuro visit next week. This week has been eventful in that she has thrown up twice. Once on me on the plane coming home and once in her bed at daycare. The girl was covered! Back to the good stuff. Ava loves to stand and walk with fingers. She'll go 5-10 steps before wanting to stop. She is talking up a storm! She says, mama, dada, papa, nana, bella, baba, baby (the same word as baba but used in context), numnum (for food), tickle tickle, more, up (pup)and she signs all done, more, milk (drink), please. There may be more, but that's all I can think of right now. She loves to feed herself, but just loves food in general really. We will find out exactly how much she weighs at her one year appointment on Tuesday. I think between 22-23 lbs. She is turned around in her carseat and loving it! She is even trying to blow her nose! I guess that comes with lots of sinus/allergy issues. She's learning young! One of her all time favorite pasttimes (aside from giving kisses) is singing and dancing! Overall she is doing great and she continues to amaze us every day!

The Birthday Song!

I wasn't sure how Ava was going to react! We sang Happy Birthday to her yesterday and she loved it! She even clapped at the end and made everyone laugh!
