Pretend City!

We went out to Pretend City in Irvine today to meet up with some of our playgroup! It was so cute and exactly how they explained it on the website. It was a miniature city with everything being kid friendly. It had everything including an art studio (which my kids had no interest in) a farm, grocery store, a construction site, a model home, a cafe, a beach and a marina! There was just about anything you would find in a larger So Cal beach city, right down to the convertible BMW!

Pink eye and dress up!

Zach just minutes before the goop started!

Ava being mommy!

Zach has pink eye! Yuck! It started last night with a yellow goop coming from his eye. This morning he couldn't even open his eye. It was swollen and red. We explained to him last night that he has pink eye and a little while later he said "I want to see my purple eye!" At first I was confused then I realized that he is very concrete at this age. He thought his eye was purple! This morning I gave him the drops and said "there are your blue eyes!" and he said "they aren't pink anymore". Then I decided to try to call it conjunctivitis. That was hilarious!
Ava has started to want to play dress up! We got her some stuff in the dollar bin at Target and she just loves being mommy! I don't own a pink hat and gloves, but I do have a baby :-) If you still call my almost 2 year old a baby {snif}.

Never ending illness!

This is just a sick house! Both kids have had fevers of 102 in the last two days. We managed to go out yesterday to do some shopping, but Ava took a dive after that. Andy stayed home with the kids today while I went scrapbooking with my group and it looks like he may have to stay home with them tomorrow because I have an already paid for seminar for work :( I hate when I can't be with them for their sick days. Today was tough enough, but leaving all day will be hard tomorrow. Praying for a miraculous recovery by morning for all! I think the rest of the week was pretty mundane, well as mundane as a week can be with a 3 year old and almost 2 year old.

I've decided to pick my favorite pictures from Zach's first year and scrap them digitally. He didn't get the benefit of my knowledge in that year!

Valentine's Day and the beach!

Bring me back to mom!

I hate it here!

Happy as a clam!

It's cool from this distance!

While most of my loved ones are dealing with snow and cold weather, we were able to spend Valentine's Day at the beach! Most of us love going to the beach, but Ava just hated it. She wanted to be in my lap or in her stroller the whole time. The only time she was happy was when we were leaving and she was able to say "Bye bye ocean. Bye bye dolphins!" The weather was perfect and we even saw a big pod of about 6 dolphins swimming really close to the shore. After the beach we went to lunch. Ava was her happy self there. Zach wanted to go back to the water. They are so different!

Happy Valentine's Day from Zach and Ava!

Wishing you a happy Valentine's Day!

Pigtails and Marble Jars!

Ava is finally able to wear pigtails in her hair and she kept them in for hours today! Zach is in the terrorist three's stage so we are trying the marble jar idea that my friend shared with me. Yesterday we made a makeshift jar, but today we went to Michael's and he picked out marbles and we got two new jars. Fingers crossed that SOMETHING works soon.

Valentine's Day Playdate!

Exchanging cards!

Ava with the hostess!

We had a ton of fun at our Valentine's day playdate! We ate cupcakes and lollipops and exchanged v-day cards with our friends.

Bye Bye Binky!

Waiting for the binky fairy!

His popsicle lollipop!

The aftermath!

We finally did it! Zach allowed the binky fairy to pay us a visit and we have been binky free since Sunday! To celebrate on Monday he was allowed to eat his "popsicle lollipop" for breakfast, then we went to the store and got him a new bouncy ball and marbles. Next we went to the park to meet up with Emma and Angela for a picnic of french fries! That is all he wanted for lunch. It was great until nap time when he decided he wanted it back. The crying was short lived though. Then on Monday night it took a little longer for him to get over it. Last night there was no mention of the binky and only tonight did he mention it after I brought it up. Fingers crossed that we are through the hard part.

2 months until Ava is 2!

Time sure is flying! I just loved this picture of Ava so much that I had to scrap it. She is such an amazing little girl and just so smart. My favorite new thing she is doing now is trying to read. I found her behind her chair in her room reading books outloud the other day. It's a bunch of gibberish mixed in with the words that she actually knows. Her two favorite books now are Go, Dog. Go! and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. We read them every night before bed.

Scrapbooking Retreat!

I got to spend the weekend in Palm Springs with some ladies from my scrapbooking group and it was so relaxing and fun! All we did was hang out, scrap, eat and sleep! What could be better?! These are just a few of the layouts I completed. Yeah me!

Me at Rock the Keys

Ava and her buddies at a playdate

We had a busy week and weekend! From playdates with friends to visiting with friends! Ava and I went to visit baby Natalia for the first time. What a sweet little baby she is! I also went to Rock the Keys for the first time and it was HI-larious! We went to celebrate Janet's birthday and she was lucky she was pregnant so we didn't have her called up to the stage :)
