Another one for ya!

Zach has a pea up his nose! It won't come out no matter what we have tried so we are headed to urgent care in the morning. This has been quite the week!

Happy Halloween!

Ava's Handy Ghosts!

Zach's Handy Ghosts!

The kids did this art project at "school" and I thought it was just the cutest thing!

Leave me alone!

This morning Zach said "weave me awone" when I was trying to brush his hair! Where the heck did he learn that? He's only two. What have I gotten myself into?

Another Storypeople!

I LOVE Storypeople!

I just love these people! I found my first storypeople prints while putsing around the beach when I first moved to California. My friend Karen and I fell in love!

The best show you're not watching!

In walks a skinny, black man in a spandex outfit and a puffy orange hat. He has a boom box on his shoulder and from that boom box he removes 5 little monsters that live in their own land called Gabba Gabba. That man is DJ Lance and the monters are Muno, Brobee, Foofa, Toodee and Plex. These monsters proceed to get themselves into trouble and do the normal things that toddlers/preschoolers do. They just don't seem to understand the rules, but DJ Lance and Plex help to guide them in the right direction. They teach them so many life skills and how to be a good friend. The show is so trippy that I have had many a friend profess their hatred. All I can say is, YOU MUST GIVE IT A CHANCE! It is the best show for the under 5 sect. I would not lead you astray! All I can say is Yo Gabba Gabba, Yo Gabba Gabba, Yo! (or in Zach's words Bo Butta Butta!) There is supposed to be a video with this post but blogger is giving me some issues. It is of Zach doing Biz's beat of the day. Yes, that's right, Biz Markie! You remember him, right?! Now set your Tivo and give it a shot :) Your child will thank you!

Retch, retch, retch x10!

I had no idea that I could vomit more than 10 times from just one meal. Seriously! I spent all of yesterday dying from vomit. Then came the fever, chills, night sweats and the such. Today I am feeling just a bit better, but still unable to eat anything besides crackers and applesauce. At least the kids are at daycare today so I don't have to worry about them. I felt like I had abandoned my whole family yesterday. I HATE being sick!

Since writing this post I have finally showered and decided to weigh myself. I am down over 5 lbs in 2 days. I know that is not good, but I haven't seen numbers on the scale like this since Andy and I met!

She rolled!

Ava rolled over once yesterday! For those of you not in the know, that is a big deal! I'm hoping she starts rolling and her hands continue to get stronger so we can just tell that neurologist guy that we don't need him and his stupid appointment anyway!

Hmmm

As I get deeper into the blogging world, I am realizing that my blog is not much fun. I just don't have the deep humor and wit that I see in other posts. Maybe it's because I am too tired...

Want to explain one of my pix from Wordless Wednesday, the last one is of the bite marks that lasted for over an hour care of my daughter! If she did that to my arm, then I can't imagine what the underside of my boob looked like! In good news, I fit into a size 29 jean again. In bad news, I was hoping they wouldn't fit so I wouldn't have to buy them. I wore them today :)

Zach and Elmo!

San Diego!

We spent the weekend in San Diego! The babies loved Sea World! Ava was totally enraptured by everything she saw (when she was awake!) and Zach loved Shamu (ah-mooo) and didn't want the show to end. We also had breakfast with Elmo and friends. Zach took a minute to warm up to them, but after that minute was up he was going around to other people's tables to get hugs from Elmo, Ernie, Telly, Zoey etc. We also got to meet up with friends so that was great. All in all, it was a lovely weekend (minus the hotel room, but that is a story for another time!)

How a 2 year old eats an apple!

Just thought this was funny! Can you tell what this was?!

Yes we MUST!

I'm not generally one to try to push politics on anyone, but this video made me cry. We MUST make a change for our children. Thanks to Sass for sending it!

More Pumpkin Patch!

I'm climbing this mountain!

Well, I'll just stay down here where it is safe, thank you!

Victory! I made it to the top!

I'm scared, get back down here!

Glad you are safe and sound!

Happy Half Birthday, Ava!

My baby will be 6 months old tomorrow! It is so hard to believe! She has brought so much joy and happiness into our little family in her short time here on Earth :) Today we had her 6 month appointment and we had some troubling news. The nurse asked if I had any concerns and I noted that I was a little concerned that she was not rolling over yet and when the doctor came in I asked him about her hands. They are always in such a weird position and it seems like she has just really started using them to explore things. She held them shut in the newborn position for longer than I thought was normal. After some exploration and lots of tormenting of the baby, the doctor suggested a neurological consult. I asked if perhaps this could all be due to the fact that she is still swaddled and he said it was possible. He asked if I wanted to wait a little while before proceeding to see if she starts to make leaps and bounds once we stop the swaddle. I said I would like to give it some time, but not too much time because if it is something more, I would really like to get on it. Of course, being the psycho mom that I am, I came home and looked online. The thing that has come up over and over is Cerebral Palsy. Now, she has very few symptoms of this, but I can see why the doctor would be concerned. The muscle tone in her hands and wrists are red flags and the fact that she cannot roll over is also a marker. Just say a prayer that she begins to build up muscle tone over the next few weeks now that we are no longer swaddling her. Also say a prayer that we all don't go crazy for lack of sleep. I know that I would rather miss out on some sleep than see my baby suffer, but I also know it may be a tough couple of nights. She is in bed right now and so far so good (knock on wood!)
