Pulling out my hair!

It is 9:49 and my 2 year old is still awake. We went to the doctors and he has tonsilitis and has had a fever of 103 this evening. The motrin seems to be helping, but for some reason he does not want to go to bed at night. I think it is Andy being gone again. I know he doesn't understand that Daddy will be back. He just sees that Daddy is gone again. Tonight was a very trying night. Both kids are feeling sick and clingy and with only one pair of arms that is really tough. It's times like this that I think adding a third child into the mix would be sheer craziness on my part! I am so tired, but he doesn't want to sleep. I tried letting him cry, which usually only lasts few minutes if he does it at all, but tonight he screamed bloody murder. I don't want the neighbors to be bothered. Now he is laying in my bed watching Dancing with the Stars. He's looking pretty sleepy. I think it's a combo of tylenol, being sick and screaming his guts out. Please go to sleep!!!! I'm sure Ava will wake up within minutes of him going down. That's just the way it works.

Happy Anniversary Trip!

We take a picture like this on every trip we go on :) This weekend we went to Laguna to celebrate our third anniversary. A whole 24 hours without children! It was nice to spend some time with just the two of us. It's been a while since we were able to do that.

Some pix from the week so far!

2 teeth for Ava and maybe a couple more on the way!

Zach has just this week started telling me about his day at daycare. Today I went to get him and he told me he had a time out for hitting another little girl with a doll! I couldn't believe it! He just cracks me up!!!!

Ava is sitting up for longer periods of time now! She is getting so big! Her teeth and sitting skills have emerged before her brothers did, however she still has no desire to roll over. Hmmm. I told her she has 2 weeks to get it before her doctors appointment.

The Gabba Gabba Dance!

Hold still! Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, GO! Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, GO! Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, STOP! Or Zach's version: wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, NO!

So Run Down!

Ava is teething really badly. The two bottom teeth are completely through, but it seems that there may be two more teeth trying to break free. Ugh! I don't like this part of parenting. She has been up every 3 hours for the last 3 nights. I am so tired!!! In other news I am now the organizer for my mommy group. It's a long story that involves a bunch of drama, but I am glad it all worked out and I think I am up for the challenge, fingers crossed! Yes, I am crazy and I obsess over having something to do with every second of my life. No sarcasm here, just sheer craziness!

Coming home!

Andy will be home in about 2 hours! I can't wait to see him. This single mom thing is intense and I am so thankful that I don't have to do it on my own. I certainly would not have two kids if I did, LOL! Our 3 year anniversary is Monday and I can't believe how quickly the time flies, but then again it seems as if we have been together forever (really it's only been 5 years total!) Next weekend he is taking me somewhere over night without children. I received another hint the other day, he said to pack for the beach. As long as he and the ocean are involved, I know I will be one happy wife!

This picture was taking on my 30th birthday trip. It was one of the happiest weekends of my life!
Our time line: met at 26, engaged at 27, married at 28, had Zach at 29 and had Ava at 30! I guess at 31 we will take a much needed rest and focus on raising our children :)

First time eating solids

This is Ava's first time eating solid food! She did very well minus a few funny faces :)

Oregon over the years (all 2 of them!)

4 Months Old!

One Year Old!

Two Years Old!

We've decided to start a jersey tradition with the kids. Each year on their birthday we will take a picture of them in a Ducks jersey (Zach) and a Patriots jersey (Ava) and watch as they grow into it!

Then and Now!

Look who's almost 2!

We had a lot of fun getting our family pictures done this week with Allie. She took us to the local library and we were all on Zach's agenda. Despite him being almost two, she was able to get some beautiful shots! Blogger is giving me a hard time with uploading, maybe because they are big, so see all of the posts below for the end results!

2 teeth already!

Ava's two bottom teeth are trying to break free! We can see them and feel them just below the surface. I think the new shriek like cry may be in response to them. She is 5 months old today so she is a month ahead of her brother. Now if she would just roll over!

Terrible almost 2's???

Zach is so almost 2! I think he is your typical terrible two. I've heard the stories and I am now living it. He just throws random temper tantrums and it seems that he starts to spiral out of control and can't get himself back without our intervention. You can see that he is trying to get it back, but not being successful. It's gotten to the point where we don't even notice it at first. They are becoming more and more frequent as he is realizing that he has an opinion and a voice. Today we went to a mommy group playdate and Andy was home so he kept Ava with him. I thought it would be great to have some time with Zach. He was great at the playdate and he was even a little clingy (which he doesn't do that much anymore, so I didn't mind). It was great right up until the end. As we were getting in the car he decided to bolt. This is the third playdate in a row that he has tried to bolt down the street while I am putting stuff or Ava in the car. I am almost to the point of using a leash. I am not above it by any means, just haven't been forced into it yet. When it comes to his safety though, I am going with his well being over what others think of me. We'll see what the future brings.

Ava is sleeping in her crib every night now. She even slept from 8-5:30 one night! Of course we woke up at 3 am anyway and couldn't sleep, but yay for her! Let's see if she consistently sleeps through the night before 18 months. Now that would be great :)

Sleeping!

Ava slept in her crib last night from 8-3 :( I was never going to transition her, but it seems that she is just not happy in our room anymore. I think we are too loud. She could not get to sleep or stay asleep last night so I figured I would give it a try and she went right down. She is still swaddling though and I think she will forever. She just loves it! Now both of my angels are napping in their own cribs. It is so weird! Even Andy commented on how weird it was last night. You know it's weird if he says something, LOL!

What is he doing behind me? Should I be scared?!

Happy in the bouncer!
