Disneyland at Christmas Time!
We had such a wonderful time at Disneyland yesterday! There were rides open that we hadn't been on yet, decorations galore, the characters dressed in their holiday finest, a wonderful parade, magical lights and a big mug of hot chocolate for me! A fabulous day, indeed!

Redlands Santa Parade!
Tonight we met up with a group of friends to go to the Redlands Santa Parade! We had to get there pretty early to get a seat along the route so the kids started to meltdown about five minutes before the big guy got there. We had 6 kids all 4 and under and they all did really good considering they were confined to their strollers for almost two hours. We let them run before the parade started and Ava just took full advantage of that! Andy got his workout in :)
The Ranch Holiday Celebration
Our neighborhood has an annual holiday gathering with Santa and snow, etc. This year we went for the first time. Both of the kids were a little hesitant with Santa, but there were no tears or freak outs. We are on the right track! Zach and Andy had a blast throwing snow at each other, but we couldn't stay long because were weren't dressed for the snow. Ava enjoyed her cookie the most out of everything!

December 3rd Entry!
After cleaning out Ava's drawers and closets to make way for Santa's loot, this is the scene I found after leaving her room for all of a minute. Note the pile of toys in the background and the happy children in the bin!
Today I made my first batch of my annual yuletide bars! I love them so much that I have to restrict them to a December only food and only make one to two batches, as required for gatherings :)
I also decided to torture the poor dog after seeing Zach do it and thinking it was cute. Zave, obviously, did not agree with me!
Let the Countdown Begin!
Trying to figure out just how to get the chocolate out!
I found these cute advent calendars to help us count down the Christmas. The kids love that they get a little piece of chocolate everyday. This entry is for days 1 and two of December. The December challenge for my Scrapbooking group is to take a picture each day of December. I got a little bit of a late start!

Decorating the Christmas Tree!
Can you spot Zach?!?!

The picture Zach took of me!

On Saturday night we listened to Christmas music and put up the Christmas tree! I'm not sure how it is going to go this year with a one and a half year old in the house, but we got some shatterproof Christmas ornaments and decided to give it a try. Zach loved showing Ava how to put the ornaments on the tree. We made sure to put the sentimental, fragile ones on the top of the tree. It's a pretty funny looking tree, but it's ours and the kids really enjoyed owning it by doing it themselves.
11/27/2009 Bye Bye Eugene :(

Taking the Eugene airport by storm!

A beaver in ducks clothes! You have to be a fan to understand!

On the airplane and no sleep in sight!
We headed for home on Friday. We took an afternoon flight, which was nice because we didn't have to rush around in the morning. The only part that was rough was the over 3 hour layover in San Francisco and the fact that neither kid slept for any part of the adventure. Ava gets this new found energy when she is overtired. Andy and I vowed not to travel with her again for a quite some time!
