Pigtails and Marble Jars!

Ava is finally able to wear pigtails in her hair and she kept them in for hours today! Zach is in the terrorist three's stage so we are trying the marble jar idea that my friend shared with me. Yesterday we made a makeshift jar, but today we went to Michael's and he picked out marbles and we got two new jars. Fingers crossed that SOMETHING works soon.

We had a ton of fun at our Valentine's day playdate! We ate cupcakes and lollipops and exchanged v-day cards with our friends.

The aftermath!

We finally did it! Zach allowed the binky fairy to pay us a visit and we have been binky free since Sunday! To celebrate on Monday he was allowed to eat his "popsicle lollipop" for breakfast, then we went to the store and got him a new bouncy ball and marbles. Next we went to the park to meet up with Emma and Angela for a picnic of french fries! That is all he wanted for lunch. It was great until nap time when he decided he wanted it back. The crying was short lived though. Then on Monday night it took a little longer for him to get over it. Last night there was no mention of the binky and only tonight did he mention it after I brought it up. Fingers crossed that we are through the hard part.

2 months until Ava is 2!

Time sure is flying! I just loved this picture of Ava so much that I had to scrap it. She is such an amazing little girl and just so smart. My favorite new thing she is doing now is trying to read. I found her behind her chair in her room reading books outloud the other day. It's a bunch of gibberish mixed in with the words that she actually knows. Her two favorite books now are Go, Dog. Go! and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. We read them every night before bed.

Scrapbooking Retreat!

I got to spend the weekend in Palm Springs with some ladies from my scrapbooking group and it was so relaxing and fun! All we did was hang out, scrap, eat and sleep! What could be better?! These are just a few of the layouts I completed. Yeah me!

We had a busy week and weekend! From playdates with friends to visiting with friends! Ava and I went to visit baby Natalia for the first time. What a sweet little baby she is! I also went to Rock the Keys for the first time and it was HI-larious! We went to celebrate Janet's birthday and she was lucky she was pregnant so we didn't have her called up to the stage :)

Zach loves it from the start!

Today we ventured up the way a bit to Oak Glen. It's about a 20 minute drive and to see snow like you would back in NH was amazing! There was a dusting in Yucaipa and by the time we got up to almost the top (it was closed up past the main tourist part) there was at least a foot! Zach jumped out and just wanted to start playing. Ava wanted to be held for the first half hour or so and when we did put her down she just stood there with a sour puss on her face!

Rainy Day Entertainment!

It has been raining ALL week long. Monday-Friday were downpours like I haven't seen in a long time. It has been a trying week for all of us being cooped up in the house. Usually our afternoons are filled with playdates and playing outside. I guess we are just getting ready for what is to come when the big move back east finally happens. Ava managed to find a way to pass the time with Zave. She enjoyed feeding him every morsel of his food by hand! He enjoyed it too and actually ate his whole dinner in one sitting for the first time in a long time. The next night the kids worked together and Zach decided to make Zave play fetch for this food. Both Zach and Zave loved it! Zave is getting pretty good at catching food in the air lately :) While I am still not feeling well, we managed to do a couple of things this week. We joined some friends for a family dinner playdate. Zach and Ava loved running all over the restaurant with their little buddies. Today we went up to the snow! What a beautiful sight. That post is coming soon.

Blocked out of Disney :(

We had big plans to go to Disneyland yesterday (surprise, surprise!) because we hadn't been since early December and were all having withdrawals. Turned out it was a blockout day so we couldn't go. It was probably for the best with how sick I have been, but we were bummed nonetheless. Instead Andy took Zach to the driving range and I took Ava and Zave for a brief jaunt to the park were Ava added to her collection of "pokey balls". See above pic!
